Maine Wildlife Viewing: Canoeing in Maine offers great opportunities to view wildlife in their natural habitat. The Allagash and West Branch of the Penobscot Rivers are best for spotting moose and hearing the song of the north....the cry of the loon. The St. Croix River is a great location to view eagles...or possibly a pair of great horned owls! during the fall rutting season, bull moose can be very responsive to  calling.   Maine Wildlife Slide Show
