Mountain River Whitewater Canoe Trip, NWT, Canada, July 4-22, The Mountain River is known by many
as the best wilderness canoeing river in Canada. A whitewater river with large volume rapids, fast current and five canyons surrounded
by steep and ragged mountains. Starting in a stream just wide enough to float your canoe, we travel through miles of unspoiled wilderness.
Numerous class I-III rapids make it necessary to cover our canoes with spray skirts. Continuous fast current allows us to cover large
distances quickly without much paddling. Camping is on gravel bars and daylight is almost around the clock. You may see caribou, moose,
wolves, Dall’s sheep, grizzly or black bear. Access in and out is by float plane out of Norman Wells.
